Ritter, Potentate Potentate’s Notes for September “It really is all about the kids and Mohammed Shrine, also” Cold Sands Ceremonial by Dramads -- November 21, 2009, Mohammed Shrine Center. Coffee 8:30 AM, Ceremonial 9:00 AM, Lunch served by the Broilers at 12:15 PM. Candidates may join at a reduced Initiation Fee! The pro-rated 2009 dues are waived! Total Cost to candidate is $50, doesn’t get any better than this! This is the final opportunity to bring in new members during 2009. Make a “Commitment to Membership.” Find that Candidate! Please send petitions to the Office of Recorder. Late in July, Illustrious Sir, Michael Fowler, P.P., Illustrious Sir C. Walden Crouch, P.P. and M. Merle Murray, with the help of the energetic football committee, pulled off another great job. Behind the scenes, it takes many man hours for the Football Committee, consisting of about 15 Nobles, to accomplish their job. Many early Saturday morning meetings took place, with overwhelming support from the Bloomington Shriners, which shall come to a well polished completion during the fourth week of July. During the week, they were assisted by Northern Illinois Shrine Club, Red Fez Shrine Club, Bloomington Shrine Club, and the “Novats Grill” manned by Ted Fowler. The game day involved many other units such as, Broilers, Calliope Unit, LOH Color Guard, Mohammed Drill Patrol, Mohammed Hospital Committee, Novats Unit, Shrine Band, and Shrine Clowns. This took co-ordination and many Noble man hours! Thank you all for raising funds for Shriners Hospital for Children and Mohammed Shrine Hospital Transportation Committee. Noble David Stark and Illustrious Sir John H. Hartwig, P.P. put the finishing touches to, what was started by Past Potentates Michael Fowler and Roger Matheny, the Mohammed Temple parking lot. John made this come off very smoothly and under budget. However, if it had not been for Noble David Stark, our work would have been much harder and more expensive. We might have enough left to complete the landscape, back door, patio, and awnings. Thank all you to all that have supported this project. Your help in the Shrine Flag Pole fund raiser has been a success. All we are waiting for now is to find a person to install the poles. We have four poles that will allow us to fly up to eight flags. Thank you! Bob Cook resigned as High Priest and Prophet, for personal reasons. Bob has been one of the Divan’s best members at attending Clubs and Units meetings as well as Shrine function Parades. Bob is a good person, Mason and Shriner. Please pass on your appreciation to him for spending his time and money in supporting your Shrine and Shriner activities. With much appreciation, thank you!
